Support Group for High School Students
Group C
This support group is for high school students, for them to share freely about how the pandemic has affected their personal and social lives.
A small group of students (not more than 5 or 6) along with 2 moderators, will meet once a week, to participate in a listening/sharing circle.
With this group we aim to help students:
Cope with the stress of exams.
Overcome their anxieties wrt getting admissions in further academic or extracurricular pursuits of their choosing.
Deal with inability to study due to one/more family member(s) being sick
Cope with readjusting with an online classroom format
Connect with each other and form social bonds
Build skills to cope with challenges
Help regain a sense of empowerment, control or hope
All groups are led by trained facilitators. Groups provide a welcoming, safe, judgment-free space to share and support one another.
Here are a few general guidelines and ground rules that we need all participants to observe to ensure a fair and comfortable experience for all parties involved:
Registration via intake forms is mandatory. To avoid issues in safely conducting the support groups, we will not be taking in walk-in/ad-hoc participants at request.
The groups will meet once a week, for an hour, at a predetermined time slot.
Since this group deals with children, a mandatory parental consent form has been included in the intake form
No recording of any sessions will be allowed. Moderators also will not record the sessions to preserve the confidentiality of the participants.
The support groups are a safe space that will maintain confidentiality; so nothing discussed during the session can be divulged to anyone outside of the circles. (Except in cases of emergencies, when the emergency contacts will be suitably notified)
Time in the session needs to be managed such that everyone gets a chance to speak, and address their concerns.
Participants are requested to join the sessions on time.
Although the Support Group sessions themselves are free of charge; there’s a registration fee of 50 INR or above (pay as you wish) in order to cover operational costs for the organization.
