SAFE SPACES

Who We Are

A safe space for holding open conversations and enriching perspectives, in a step towards making the world around us more inclusive.

About Us

People For Dialogue is an initiative that came into existence in 2017, to facilitate conversations about the various difficult and so-called ‘taboo’ topics in our society; to bring about a change in the narrative. To unlearn stereotypes and prejudices, and brave the fear of the unknown, through open, sensitive and sensitising dialogue.

Vision

To move towards inclusivity in society, by asking the right questions

Why We Do What We Do

A lot of times, our lack of understanding and perspective about the unknown, results in a fear of the unknown, and sometimes turns into hostility of thought. This in turn, leads to problems like prejudices, and non-acceptance. More often than not, the people we misunderstand and misjudge are just like us, with a desire to live a normal life, and be perceived and treated as such.

People For Dialogue aims at bridging such gaps. We believe that by bringing our questions to the table, with the desire to learn and be sensitive, we can build a more accepting and inclusive world.

PROJECTS

Support Groups (for Covid-19 related anxieties and concerns)

The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has one way or another put us all through immense psychological readjustment. As the loss of normalcy continued on to become ‘the new normal’, it got harder for some of us to take good care of our mental well being through all the stressors. From fear to anxiety to grief, we have had to go through a gamut of painful emotions.

For a lot of us, the lockdown did not only cause physical and social distancing, but also mental and emotional isolation. With the threat of us or our loved ones contracting the virus, almost constantly looming over us, we have all sought comfort and support systems in some form.

Through People For Dialogue we are trying to create that safe space for everyone, through our Mental Health Support Groups. Here in listening and sharing circles led by facilitators, we hope to make mental health care more accessible to the ones who need it.

Support Groups

We are starting 4 Support Groups;

  • Groups A & B for Adults,

  • Group C for High-School Students and

  • Group D for College Students.
